You might think that getting a nice picture out of my own children would be easy as pie, with me being a photographer... but you'd be wrong! My kids have had their whole lives with a camera in front of them and they're immune to all my tricks and bribes... but every so often, one slips through the net. In this case, it was a matter of sticking them both somewhere that they couldn't wander off from and getting their dad to make them giggle. And now it's my favourite picture of the two of them together!
Another newborn session; another perfect subject! Miss S (as yet unnamed!) was an absolute doll for me at her shoot - she looked around inquisitively, she slept, she smiled... and she was generally just so cute! Plenty of colour in this set, with the green sofa and fabulous orange chair that we took outside into the sunny garden. I'm looking forward to seeing this pretty girl again (she should have a name by then... hehe); here is the pick from her first session.
Baby Andrew is a perfect example of why it's great to do newborn sessions as early as possible! Less than a week old, Andrew was still tightly curled up, so sleepy and perfectly content to let me move him around as much as I liked... The only challenge was trying to get a few snaps of him with his eyes open, which he obliged for less than a minute before conking out hard again! Andrew is another of my recent 'Baby & Beyond' subjects, so look out for him when he's a little older... here is a peek at his newborn session.
A quick break in all the newborn sessions for something a little different - a bump shoot with my sister-in-law! Louise & Rob are expecting their first baby in a couple of weeks and I did a few photos with them on a recent visit... we might have gotten more but it was so hot and Louise was melting as it was! You'll be seeing plenty of my new niece/nephew when s/he arrives, but for now here are a few of the maternity shots.
Yep... it's another newborn session! Kara was an unexpected session this week; she was actually scheduled for the end of July, but decided to make her appearance 6 weeks early! This pretty little lady was an absolute doll - I love how much hair she has, and those lovely chubby cheeks... I'll be seeing her again when she's a little older, but for now here are a few shots from her newborn session.
You'll be seeing a lot more of this little lady - she's the latest edition to my friend's family! Pretty little Sophia was 12 days old when I met her, and we had a very quick session with her on her own.. there will be more pictures of her with her big brother Angelo in the near future! But for now, here she is, with her tiny feet, big yawns, and the prettiest little curl at the nape of her neck. Her mummy is very glad to have a little girl to fawn over!
Time for a blog catch-up, and to begin we have Jayden's first photoshoot, the first of a big influx of recent newborn sessions! At 3 weeks old, baby Jayden is at the older end of the newborn spectrum, and so was much more alert and wriggly than his younger peers. Still a cute little man of course, with lots of character and he did amazingly well in the heat on the day of his session... Here's a peek at his shoot!
Katie and Lee had been engaged for a while, but left themselves only 8 weeks to plan their wedding around a holiday.. talk about doing it the wrong way around! But they had a gorgeous celebration, and all that hard work paid off in the end. They were married at a registry office and held the reception at Lancashire County Cricket Club, which made for some nice group shots on the stands. I joined them as Katie and her maid-of-honour, daughter Alex, were getting themselves ready and stayed through to the speeches after the wedding breakfast. Here's a (large) handful of shots from Katie and Lee's big day.
I always love newborn sessions... and I love them even more when they're with babies like Aaron! Oh-so-sleepy and easy to pose, Aaron was a little star who snoozed happily while his parents and I moved him around as much as we wanted! He kept his parents waiting a while for his arrival (their maternity session was about a month ago now!), but I'm sure they'll agree that this handsome little man was well worth the wait. Here are a few of my favourites from his session.
